How can the Gift of Travel help our charitable organization?
We help you raise money – at no cost to you. Gift of Travel is helping non-profits worldwide raise funds through a simple yet effective passive fundraising tool -- vacation travel!
Gift of Travel gives back 4% of the total pre-tax cost of your supporters’ travel to your charitable organization. We offer competitive pricing to meet their travel needs. By offering a travel option to your supporters, a year round, no cost fund raising vehicle is created.
With our Travel as a Fundraiser ™ program, your volunteers, members and supporters can book and enjoy their vacation, honeymoons, getaways or river cruise vacations with AMAWATERWAYS knowing that a portion of their vacation cost was donated back by Gift of Travel to support you.
Is Gift of Travel an established travel company?
Gift of Travel is a fundraising company promoting Travel as a Fundraiser ™ for non-profits and charitable organizations. Our executives have over 50 years combined experience in the travel industry. Having owned our own travel companies we know how important the reliability and dependability of a travel company is. We have chosen several well known travel suppliers to provide our online booking tool and product fulfillment.
Our travel providers were chosen based on of their financial stability, longevity, superior customer service, competitive pricing and extensive vacation offerings. Both Apple Vacations and AMAWATERWAYS support charitable giving and are enthusiastic supporters of Gift of Travel’s Travel as A Fundraiser™ program.

AMAWATERWAYS has redefined European river cruising since its founding in 2002 (as Amadeus Waterways) by river cruise industry pioneer, Rudi Schreiner, cruise industry executive Kristin Karst, and former owner of Brendan Worldwide Vacations, Jimmy Murphy.
AMAWATERWAYS provides luxury, all inclusive river cruise vacations to Europe, Russia and the Mekong River in Asia.
Packages to Tahiti, Fiji and the Cook Islands are provided by Pleasant Holidays.
Does Gift of Travel accept money from members or supporters for the booking of their travel?
No, Gift of Travel does not process or accept the money from members or supporters for the booking of their travel. All travel bookings are made and all funds for the booking of travel are made directly to the travel supplier.
Are the Gift of Travel travel packages competitive?
Yes, vacation packages with Apple Vacations and AMAWATERWAYS river cruise vacations provided through the Travel as a Fundraiser ™ are competitively priced. Vacation packages are NOT not marked up to cover the 4% donation.
Can we book just airline tickets or business travel with Gift of Travel?

How will our organization receive “credit” for the travel that is booked by our supporters?
Upon agreement with Gift of Travel, your organization is given a unique identifying code that will be recognized by the travel booking system from your site and from the Gift of Travel website. If booking online is not their preference, the name of your Charitable Organization will also be on a list that each travel specialist has for phone calls.
When will our Organization receive the 4% donations from travel booked by our supporters?
Please note that your Organization will receive credit for the travel only after the trip has been completed. There will be quarterly statements with remittance included.
Does our webmaster need to get involved?
We create your unique booking engine code and the Gift of Travel custom landing page unique to your orgnaization. We just ask participating organizations to "Spread the Word" about the Travel as a Fundraiser ™ to your members. Organizations do put a banner and a link about the Travel as a Fundraiser ™ on their website. We have provided buttons and graphics your web designer can place on your organization's site with the link to your custom landing page.
Does our organization have any liability?
No. Your organization is not a Seller of Travel. All travel is arranged through the travel suppliers providing packages through our Travel as a Fundraiser ™ program. Your organization will not be involved in any travel arrangements or acceptance of payment for the travel booked by members. All credit card transactions for payment of supporters travel are made directly to Pleasant Holidays.
How do we know the donated funds are secure?
Funds for the 4% to be donated to your organization are held in a client trust account, separate from Gift of Travel’s operating funds.
If a donor books a trip and then the trip is canceled or delayed, how does that affect us?
To avoid such issues, your charitable organization will receive credit for the travel only after the trip is completed.
What if our supporters have questions about their itinerary or other travel questions?
Your members and supporters will be well taken care of when booking their travel needs. Both Apple Vacations and AMAWATERWAYS provide friendly and welled trained reservation call center support who are familiar with the Gift of Travel Travel as a Fundraiser™ program and our non-profit partners. For any inquiries, from questions about the destination, to help with booking, to changes in itineraries on vacation packages, we welcome them to call the travel specialists supporting the Gift of Travel Travel as a Fundraiser™ program and they will be happy to assist your supporters.

Can the Gift of Travel program for our regional charitable organization be taken to the national level?
Yes, the larger the reach of supporters of your charitable organization, the more travel will be booked, resulting in more donations for your Charitable Organization.
Is this travel service available to anyone who wishes to use it?
Absolutely! Please invite family and friends to use the Travel as a Fundraiser ™ booking system from your website for their trips, and 4% of all of their travel booked will be donated to you.
Are you willing to do a presentation on Gift of Travel to our organization?
Yes, we would be happy to send a representative to your Charitable Organization’s Board and/or interested supporters to describe the program and answer any concerns. Please call 877-618-GIFT (4438) to arrange a meeting.
Is the 4% donation tax deductible to our members?
We are not tax experts and advise all members to seek the advice of their tax professionals. However, when we disperse the 4% donation to your organization it will be on behalf of your member, along with a detailed receipt of the donation.
How much can our organization expect to receive from the Gift of Travel?
How much you receive depends on the size of your member group, how the Travel as a Fundraiser ™ program is promoted through your organization and the number and dollar value of the vacations that are booked by your supporters.
